Maybe you're struggling to find a photographer that you feel comfortable in front of. A photographer that you're able to share concerns related to your body and how photos capture your body. Perhaps you feel anxious being at the center of even one person's attention, but you still want imagery of yourself that you feel expresses who you are beneath a shy exterior. It could be that you, like most of us, just feel a little awkward at times in your body and want a photographer that can help ease self-conscious feeling and make this fun.
We believe bodies are beautiful, that smiles are cinematic. When we see you, we see your own brand of radiance, and we want to capture those details in ways that communicate your authentic self and highlight not simply your body but also your personality and expressiveness. We want to get you laughing, smiling, and even enjoying this time spent together creating.
We all find that sometimes we let our minds bully our bodies. But here, we believe that your body is your home, your vessel that carries you through life. It doesn't require changing or modification. It is uniquely yours and a thing to celebrate. We want you, glorious you, to take up space in our camera lens and feel a sense of freedom in expressing yourself.
We work with you to make the space with us feel comfortable by encouraging open communication of your anxieties or fears surrounding the photography process without judgment or assumption. We work with you to create an atmosphere that not only meets you where you are but truly honors you, your beauty, and your identity. We're here to celebrate you.
Mapping Your Photo Shoot
Once you've completed our contact form, we'll reach out to you within 24-48 hours to arrange a time to connect via phone, Skype, or in-person to discuss your needs in detail and walk you through the photoshoot process. When we reach out to schedule that time, we'll also share pricing information and an overview of upcoming availability.
Agreement
Following our idea and detail sharing session, we will send you an agreement for signature that outlines the details and logistics of our upcoming photoshoot. Once electronically executed, your date will be reserved. We'll stay in touch and be on hand to answer any questions as the shoot date draws nearer.
Location
We're always happy to meet with you at the location your photoshoot will take place to walk through logistics and possible shots before the date.
Preparing
As you prepare for the date of our shoot, consider your clothing and makeup. We want you to be the star of the show in the images. So, we strongly recommend solid-colored clothing. Darker tones tend to highlight your face, while lighter tones can bring a fresh light to images — pick what speaks to you. And remember that we're always able to help with this process!
The Day of The Shoot
First step, relax! Your level of ease will translate in your images; remember that it's our top priority to ensure you're comfortable. Be flexible and ready to receive gentle direction from your photographer.
Following The Shoot
The photographer will share with you the time frame required for editing and refinement of the images. Once ready, the images will be sent to you via Dropbox or a USB drive. This time frame generally ranges from two weeks to 60 days depending on the length of time spent together.
Body Positive Portrait Pricing
$300 for a two-hour session
$100 per additional hour
A minimum of 40 edited images will be delivered via Dropbox or USB drive for a small additional charge.
SLIDING SCALE PRICING
We aim to bring the joy of photography to everyone, regardless of income. Please contact us directly for more information on sliding scale and reduced rates. The quality of your imagery will remain the same regardless of your payment amount. That is our pledge to our community.
